Why Play Paintball?

Well, for starters, paintball is great exercise, it’s a fantastic way to
relieve stress, and the adrenaline is truly like no other found in
any sport. And besides, in what other sport can you play with both
females and youngsters, and everyone has an equal chance to
win? Its not uncommon to see adults talk paintball with the
youngsters in the paintball fields, and everyone has a great time.

Paintball is played all over the world by millions in places like
Africa, Brasil, Spain, Italy and Portugal. In fact, the SGMA (Sports
Group Manufacturers Association) has recorded that in 2003
alone, there were over 8 million paintball participants in th U.S.
alone, making it the third highest extreme sport in THE WORLD
behind BMX biking and inline skating, respectively. It is played
professionally in national and globally recognized ranked events.
It can even be seen on ESPN, The Outdoors Channel, and in
various tv shows and commercials. Paintball is a legitimate multi-
million dollar industry. In the My Space phenomenon, paintball
groups make up the largest of all My Space group categories with
millions of entries.

On the web you can find college paintball teams, all girl paintball
clubs, young guns tourneys for kids, Christian paintball clubs
(CPPL),and even a paintball college (PTI), that can train you in a
career in paintballs fast growing industry. Corporations use
specific theme paintball clinics that can help co-workers achieve
teamwork, coordination, communication and leadership skills, in
the workplace, all by playing paintball.

Most fields have a minimum age limit of at least 11 or 12 years
old, so check with your local fields before you bring the young
ones. People who play paintball don’t have just a great time, they
have a terrific, unforgettable adventure that they will talk about
and remember for years to come. Millions of people can not be
wrong. Go out with a nice group of friends and play some
paintball! Just be prepared for your new addiction!

Hector Farrulla has been an avid paintball player for over 10
years now, playing both woodsball and speedball, and plays back
position for the Bronx Paintball Society . The team has just placed
4th overall, 2nd in its division in their 1st tournament, Skirmish’s 3
man summer tournament with its former team, rapid suffocation,
and is diligently practicing to compete in the 2007 Global Paintball
League tournaments. The Bronx Paintball Society players are
safety ambassadors to the sport, promoting a safe, fun and
healthy environment in paintball.
