Buzz! Buzz! "Of course you've heard, the dates and the places, put on your best faces,
and while I am reporting, it's YOU I am courting. Don't get a second hand thrill, be there, but still
remember distribute the news with partisan views about the affair at the Book Fair, the Fashion,
the Arts it makes my heart throb cause New York's calling. Here's the scoop!!!
"To Kill a Mockingbird," by Harper Lee is the BIG READ tribute at the Bronx Council on the
Arts for the Big Read in the Bronx. Venues include the Bronx Library Center (310 Kingsbridge
Road) on March 28th, 2:30-4:45pm with a movie screening of Mississippi Burning, and at another
venue the Pregones Theater (575 Walton Avenue) on April 1st at 7pm see an Inspirit Dance

Antiquarian or not, the 49th NEW YORK ANTIQUARIAN BOOK FAIR opens at the Park Avenue
Armory at 67th St. from April 3-5. Don't let it be a second hand thrill, be there, but still there's
something for everyone whose got a penchant for culture. Over 200 of the world's finest dealers
bring together their rare books, manuscripts, finely bound volumes, autographs, maps and
ephemera that make up the oldest and most prestigious book fair. Ticketed visitors can bring their
rare books, etc (up to 5 items) to Discovery Day, Sunday, April 5, noon- 3pm when exhibitors will
be on hand to offer expert advice and free appraisals. Fri/Apr3 noon-8pm, Sat/Apr4 noon-7pm,
Sun/Apr5 noon-5pm. Admission charge. Best bet, run of show pass $40, 2-day pass $30, daily

Passion for Fashion? Rediscover Muriel King, designer to Hollywood Legends and Socialites
on view at THE MUSEUM at the Fashion Institute of Technology through April 4th. Though little
known today, the designer was in demand by celebrities such as Katherine Hepburn, Rita
Hayworth and Ginger Rogers & socialites galore including Dorothy Schiff and Mrs. Cornelius
Vanderbilt Whitney. There are 36 fully-rendered watercolors of fine garments designed for private

New York's calling "Time out for Tea" at Po'An (Japanese for "boutique" or "tea salon") where
fine crafted objects, hand- made gifts and housewares mingle in an event-space for up to ten
people for a traditional Japanese tea ceremony. All this adjacent to the Ippodo Gallery where
Japanese lacquer artist, Tohru Matsuzaki, exhibits a sumptuous sampling of over fifty of his wares
in intense shades of red and deep black. Through May 9th at 521 W. 26th St.,
