    In these murky modern days New York's on another phase. Though the high had allure, we
know, culture steels the show.Reel Religion to Latin Bands, Korean Art to Browning Poetry
it's the best I'm told that's rich as gold. So let's salute the lot, and up the anti for all we've got. UP,

    REEL RELIGION…only in New York, my friends, at MOBIA the Museum of Biblical Art, which
celebrates the biblical narratives and history that were the source of inspiration for moviemakers
throughout the world.  Reel Religion is composed of over fifty vintage posters advertising
international Biblical films revered for their artistic quality and promotional savvy. Adam and Eve,
The Passion Play, The Ten Commandments and Fabiola are but a few of the epics, the film
memorabilia, movie programs, motion picture stills, and photoplay books on display. At 1865

    The rhythm of New York has a Latin beat. So samba over to the Americas Society where Larry
Harlow and the Latin Legends Band, holds forth with conversation 6pm and performance at 7pm.
Pianist and arranger Larry Harlow, a living legend of Afro-Cuban jazz, revolutionized the genre
with his explosive sound. He has produced over 260 records for Fania and will perform with stars
including Bobby Sanabria and Chembo Corniel. Harlow received the the Latin Recording

    What art!!! What amazing works!!! The height of artistic production under court and elite
patronage during the first 200 years of the Choson dynastic, a time of extraordinary artistic
and cultural achievements debuts "ART of the KOREAN RENAISSANCE, 1400-1600." The diverse
group of secular and religious paintings, porcelain, sculpture, lacquer, and metalwork highlights
the aesthetics, conventions and innovations of a Neo-Confucian elite and its artistic milieu.

    The famed poet Robert Browning takes center stage as Barnard poetry prize winner, Elizabeth
Anne Socolow holds forth on Browning with "Browning and Vernacular Language: His Influence on
some 20th & 21st century poetry in England and America." Event at The New York
Browning Society's meeting Wednesday, April 8th at 1pm. Ms. Socolow will provide examples, and
go on to demonstrate RB's influence on such American poets as Elizabeth Bishop, Robert Lowell
and Richard Wilbur to name a few.  Then on May 6th The Browning Society holds its Annual
Meeting and Festive Luncheon featuring the celebrated actors CHRISTINE BARANSKI and
MATTHEW COWLES performing "FOREVERIN LOVE" the great love story of the Browning's
