The Talent Frontline/ Celebs Among Us!!!
Think no more of it darling, be a celeb yourself. You too can hob nob and romp with the café
society jet set. From cabaret to concert hall and even the movies the cast of celebs among us tips
the scale of star-studded events in the Big Apple that should be on your "MUST SEE" list.
Surely you've heard of KT Sullivan. KT's so versatile she appears in so many venues all around
the Big Apple that one might dub her the "NEW YORK SONGBIRD." Her entertainments, as
diverse as Broadway show tunes to opera, have showcased KT at the Algonquin Hotel but her
latest venue is the Café Sabarsky at The Neue Galerie New York with Jon Weber at the piano. On
March 13 and March 20th hear KT Sullivan singing songs "From Vienna to the World" in her
salute to Greta Keller, Austria's beloved "great lady of Chanson" with works by Jacques Brel and
Kurt Weill, as well as American standards, which she interprets with such wit and personal charm.

Alice Austen takes the limelight at The Arsenal in Central Park. Now I'm sure that you've ever
heard about this dame, as she is an Austen with quite a different venue. Well dearie hold onto
your hat. Alice was a rebel who broke from the confines of her Victorian environment to create her
own independent world as one of America's earliest and most prolific female photographers. Her
life and work is showcased at the historic Alice Austen House Museum on Staten Island, but you
can discover her identity and attend the opening extravaganza of her never before seen
photographs, Thursday, March 13th at The Arsenal on Fifth Avenue@64th St., 6-9PM. Just show
up. www.AliceAusten.org.
My movie pick for all it's worth and it is worth giving a big thumps up on this one. If ever there
were a fairy tale, romance and Cinderella story all wrapped up in one very mature waif it is the
recently opened movie, "Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day." And what a day it is as the actress
Frances McDormand is transformed from forlorn waif to social secretary status in an unexpected
turn of events in which she too may find love. No I shan't give the film away but just to say that the
Art Deco sets are too, too divine and the frivolity of pre WWII England takes us on a merry romp of
entertainments. Enjoy!!!
Bravo, Bravisimo!!! Eve Queler's Opera Orchestra of New York concert on Friday night was
stupendous. Maestro Queler's opera-in-concert series showcases operatic talent and the stellar
l00th performance at Carnegie Hall did not disappoint. The stunning prima donna, Renee Fleming
led the cast of celebs and at the end most of the evening's singers gathered for Verdi's drinking
song from "La Traviata." The audience clapping with the usual brand of glitterai gusto.

Talk about fashion stealing the spotlight the Great Designers Symposium at the Fashion
Institute of Technology, March 14-15th, 9:30-5pm each day showcases fashion celebs galore. To
top the list, there is Valerie Steele, director and chief curator of The Museum at FIT in
conversation with designer Isabel Toledo and designer, Andrew Bolton, curator at the Costume
Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in conversation with designer, Ana Sui. Then Hamish
Bowles, the European editor-at-large for Vogue discusses Edward Molyneux. Not to be missed is
Pamela Colbin, curator-in-chief at the Musee de la Mode et du Textile of the Palais du Louvre, a
gal I know from Paris who will give insightful remarks on Olivier Theyskens. Contact

Never get enough of Andy Warhol then take in the opening March l6th at The Jewish Museum
where Warhol's Ten Portraits of Jews of the Twentieth Century depict luminaries including Sarah
Bernhardt, Albert Einstein, Golda Meir, the Marx Brothers and Gertrude Stein. Want to interact
with the artists? Go see Off The Wall: Artists at Work a two-week spring festival from 3/16-3/27
when you will have a rare opportunity to see artists creating cutting-edge work, talk with them, and
in some cases, be part of the creative process in fashion music, the performance art, video and
new technologies. www.thejewishmuseum.org.
All you have to do darling is to put on your roller skates and hit the Big Apple speed haste to
join the celebs on this merry frolic. I'll be there, look for the gal with flame red hair.
P.S. After several sleepless nights I just finished reading the fat book, Noel Coward's Letters. Wow
what a life!!! What a talent!!! What a legendary man!!! If you want to read about a scintillating
celeb this is it. You can chat me up at info@pollytalk.com.
