SUMMER IN THE CITY SIZZLES

    Summertime and the livin is easy!!!  Sizzling with adventure!!!  There’s just not enough time to

Museum Mile just get in the groove and move to the rhythm of the city.  Here’s the scoop!!!

    It’s all about POWERFUL WOMEN at the Museum of American Finance, 40 Wall Street, where   
“Women of Wall Street”  showcases notable women in the world of finance. Meet Abigail Adams, a
successful bond speculator; Victoria Woodhull, who opened the first female-owned  brokerage on
Wall Street in 1870; Hetty Green, Wall Street’s first female tycoon; Isabel Behnam, an
accomplished railroad bond analyst who began her career on Wall Street in 1931 and last but not
least Muriel Siebert, the first woman to purchase a seat on the NEW YORK STOCK EXCHANGE.

    The famous yellow ensemble that  First Lady, Michelle Obama wore on Inauguration Day takes
centerstage in the exhibit: “Isabel Toledo: Fashion From the Inside Out, ” at The Museum at the
Fashion Institute of Technology,  Seventh Avenue at 27th St.   It offers a muraled time line of
Toledo’s major career events dating back to 1985 but plans for this exhibit of Toledo’s oeuvre
were already underway way before the famed dress became such a symbol of American
craftsmanship. FREE

    Chill out and reve up your vibes!!! MOMA stays open late on Thursdays in July and August
with performances in two sets, at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. Weather permitting swing to live music and
indulge your taste for tapas in the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden. In July hear
Brazilian rhythms ranging from samba to bossa nova and forro  presented in conjunction with films

GOLD JEWELRY and Afghanistan’s Dazzling Natural Treasures---hidden for 25 years---
celebrates the unique role of its creators and the distinctive style from the Bronze Age into the
Kushan period. The exhibition features a rich selection of delicately wrought  artworks from four
fabled archaeological sites including really extraordinary turquoise-encrusted gold jewelry and
