Scholarship Fund
The ANDROID Scholarship Fund is established to assist college
students, or college bound individuals with special funding to help them
with the costs of daily living, or other unforeseen expenses which may
impair their ability to remain in school.
Daily living expenses are defined as:
Money necessary for commuting, clothing, personal hygiene, food,
recreation, or any other necessity excluding tuition, books, and primary
or secondary residence. A typical scholarship does not exceed
$500.00 per semester, however, in the event of hardship, the
Scholarship Review Committee can make an exception.
Unforeseen expenses are defined as:
Any expense that was not initially calculated into the student's fiscal
budget either due to oversight or omission. A typical scholarship does
not exceed $500.00 per semester, however, in the event of hardship,
the Scholarship Review Committee can make an exception.
Scholarship Appeal
The foundation is appealing to local business owners and the
community at large to help fund this program. Since the target
scholarship is $500.00, business owners have an opportunity to fund
all or part of the award. You donation is tax deductible to the fullest
extent of the law because 100% of the gift benefits the scholarship
recipient. Therefore complete amount may be deducted from your
reported income. Please consult with your tax preparer to make sure it
is properly annotated in your filings.
If you would like to make a larger or smaller donation, each gift will be
considered at the time the donation is made. In all cases, your
generosity will not go unrecognized. Your firm or business will be listed
on our Sponsorship page, and in our annual report regardless of the
size of your donation.
Other sponsorship programs
Essentially, the possibilities are endless. The foundation is willing to
work with your business to customize a program which will not only
benefit the scholarship recipient, but also help publicize the honorable
intentions of your company as well.
Scholarships are not limited to participants of the ANDROID Internship
Program. However, consideration is given to our registered program
participants.
Fee For Services
In order to help defray the administrative cost of running the
foundation, business owners are encouraged to remit an annual fee of
$50.00 per year. This is a fee for services which is a standard business
deduction. Your company will be duly noted on our Sponsorship page.
A link to your website will be attached. If you do not have your own
website, ANDROID will create a one page .html file within our url to
honor your company as a participating sponsor.
