When I set out to create an online news service, I
had every intention of following the standard
internet protocol which includes a highly polished
finished look, and uniform format. I looked at
dozens of sites such as the NY Times, CNN and
even some unknown news services. They all
seemed to have that "pretty" look to them. Very
official looking and probably expensive with flash,
video, and the latest graphics. It was then that I
decided to stay with the IBC Solutions simple
format which my clients and readers have grown
accustomed to, and one that is easy for me to
maintain on my own without having to hire a
webmaster. I came up with the slogan for the
Soho News "Different is noticed." This not only
typifies Soho, but the news site as well. I intend
on keeping it simple and employ lots of color to
insure it remains "different".
You will notice that each day I add new stories
and editorials. I hope to install a Letters to the
Editor feature as soon as some emails start to
come it. Additionally, I'm hoping that some of the
readers will be encouraged by my simple straight
forward format and submit news, stories,
pictures and ideas to help make the Soho News
a more interesting place for readers to
congregate. In the next few weeks, I will be
visiting local businesses, taking more pictures
and inviting people to read and participate in this
online news service. The purpose is to affect
others with the old charm and stylish influence
Soho tends to have on everyone who walks her
streets, visits her galleries, eats in her
restaurants, and lives in her buildings.
There is a unified focus I hope to transmit as
time goes by. I would like the readers to get to
know ANDROID as a foundation that is
committed to helping the youth and elderly in all
NYS communities. I would appreciate any like
minded individuals who are also committed to
giving and sharing that which begins in the mind,
enters the region of the heart and comes forth in
poetry, song, dance, art or any other spirit that is
full of beauty and hope, to believe that it is our
duty to band together to make the world a better
place. I fully intend to get to know my neighbors
better, and in the process spread some of this
good news to others. One person can make a
difference. Imagine what dozens could do? The
online version of the Soho News celebrated its
one day old birthday on June 28, 2006. Happy
birthday to our Soho News. You are all invited to
attend our next birthday party which will be each
